All that’s waiting is a bun in the oven. And when there is a baby-for-sale racket, money can indeed buy happiness. And after all, why not?” (NST, March 3, 2013). How do you view above statement?

The statement above, rather than shocking, it makes me thin; should buying babies for wealthy people could be legal one day? From my point of view, as someone who is full of emotions as deep as the ocean, I truly believe the statement above is quite disturbing. “..., money can indeed by happiness.” sounded very right at a certain situation but not this one. The only righteous thing about this market is for those with wealth but not blessed with children. To argue with that, is that the only way? By buying from someone who is much more unfortunate in their lives but are able to make babies? From years back, humans are blessed with science and technology to create a living if they are unable to do it naturally. For example, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is one of the many ways to make babies in the lab. According to WebMD (2017), if the woman is aged below 35, she has 39.6% to have a baby by doing this. This process might be one of the most expensive treatments but if they can afford a baby that cost thousand there is no excuse for them to skip this path of possibilities to have babies.

Other than that, let us view on the side of those people who have to give their baby away. It honestly sounded very wrong because its something that belongs to them and the bond is already there. Of course, they gain money and all when they sell those babies but the truth is the process is much more filthy than it already is. When you are in the market, you are the worker, not the boss. So, the money that you are supposed to gain from selling your baby will have to go through someone higher than you before it reached you while you are left with no emotional support and baby-less. All of the medical treatments are not organized much to think of when they are from countries that are less fortunate. The truth is, people would probably do the sexual activity without love but we cannot deny the power of the love of a mother.

Last but not least, are all babies will be accepted? We live in a very cynical world and there is no safe territory of selling various types of babies from different ethnics. The baby of colours will definitely be the last choice for those who are prejudiced. I do not want to think of where those babies go if no one wanted them, let us live that to your wildest dream.

To conclude, there is no such thing of buying something that is not eligible for the markets. Babies are something that everyone admires and the story behind the making of the baby should be admirable too.
