Reflection: Innovative Technologies in Teaching and Learning (EDU456)
Assalammualaikum everyone, Hasmira here. As I am reaching the end of the semester, I can't believe that this will be my last post regarding this subject, Innovative Technologies in Teaching and Learning (EDU456). Today, I would like to review this subject and how I feel about everything I have learned.
First of all, when I started learning this subject, some of the lessons we were taking were something I had already used or discovered as a student. Due to that, it feels incredible to refresh about things that I have been using while improving my skills with new knowledge on specific tools. The most exciting part was when I learned about planning assessments or works for students. Before conducting any lesson, I had no idea that teachers have to prepare thoroughly to improve students and teachers. Other than that, I genuinely love the extra knowledge about different types of e-learning, and the challenges students and teachers face. This lesson widened my view on how we need to improvise and follow the current situation when involved in teaching and learning. No matter the obstacles, both sides need to play their role to gain the best outcomes in any circumstances.
When I went through the class for ten weeks, I enjoyed the lecturer's engagement with her students. Despite having online classes throughout the semester, Dr. Azah made us feel very close to her. She always asks about our well-being at the beginning of the class. Almost every student becomes active by leaving comments, answering questions, and sharing their experiences. If we are talking about improvement, I believe that Dr. Azah had tried her best to deliver her knowledge to us, even when it was challenging. In my opinion, I want this class to be even more fun by having quizzes. As for me, I need that kind of exercise to implement what I have learned because some of it is very new to me.
Finally, I'm signing off from my weekly blog post, hoping that everything will be fine with a few weeks left in this semester. No matter what might happen or will happen, I will give my very best to balance my work and my study. Most importantly, I hope that I will get enough rest. Not to forget, I would like to thank all of my classmates for being very helpful, understanding, and resourceful throughout this semester. I wish Dr. Azah a delightful lifetime as an educator. Stay safe and take care; thank you. 😘💗
Thank you, Hasmira. It's been my pleasure teaching you and your classmates 😊 . All the best and I hope we'll get a chance to meet on campus one day 🤗 . - Dr Azah
