Flipped Classroom: TEDTalk
Meanwhile,
teachers will guide them and acknowledge the flipped classroom concept. But
before going to an actual class, teachers will prepare class modules such as
recording the online lecture, revealing the course material, and asking
students to do their research. Students will come in prepared during the actual
class to practice their skills during discussions, presentations, reviews, or
experiments.
The
concept of flipped classrooms is fascinating and widely used in this century.
It matters because it can help teachers rethink their teaching, motivate
students to work on their own, and, most importantly, improve the learning
session between teachers and students. As mentioned above, the flipped
classroom uses online technology to deliver the task. As for today, I will
focus on using TEDTalk as one of the ways to introduce flipped classrooms for
students and why it is beneficial in my point of view.
TEDTalk
has always been a favourite of mine when I need to study specific topics during
classes. To this day, TEDTalk has covered almost every issue from economy,
society, literature, and many more. It means the options are unlimited and only
at the end of one search button. StarTED during 1984, TEDTalk community has
vastly spread worldwide with more than 100 languages involved in spreading
ideas online with powerful talks that only take up a maximum of 18 minutes.
Besides spreading ideas and knowledge, the TEDTalk community aims to let their
audience know that there is no limit to learning something new. From my own
experience, I have been watching TEDTalk a lot for literature. The easiest way
to find a TEDTalk video is to go on Youtube. While Youtube provides thousands
more educational videos, I find TEDTalk more attractive for its design,
graphics, and voice-over.
I
have always enjoyed watching TEDTalk so that I have something new to learn and
discover by myself. We do not know so much about this world, be it global
issues, the environment, or almost anything. TEDTalk has opened up my mind to
know a little bit of everything about this world.
