Proposition: It is never appropriate for our government to restrict freedom of speech. Provide at least two (2) premises and (2) counter arguments for the proposition. Write in complete paragraph.

Malaysia, a well known diplomatic country that has been giving freedom of speech towards its citizens but never the absolute to cross some borders that could dictate hates. To say that our freedom of speech is restricted could be conventional but also could be the truth. To have it written in our law is already on the citizens' side as stated in Article 10 of the Federal Constitution, precisely said that “every citizen has the right to freedom of speech and expression.”  in Clause (1) (a), (Salleh Buang, 2019).  Our freedom of speech could be used when we know the differences between the free speech and hates as well as should be heard as something useful to change some of our system that could be seen as ridiculous.

Firstly, as it was stated in the law, we should use our freedom of speech because it is our right. However, knowing the border of free speech and hate are important too. When we have crossed the lines and throw hates, that is when the government could belittle us. When we are arguing and giving our ideas, it should be something that is not only on the surface. Doing the research and throwing some facts could make it a strong speech until people will understand and have to agree with the right things. Instead of throwing words that could recognize as hates, it is shown that we are speaking with our emotions and actually clueless with what is currently happening. With that, knowing the differences between what is the right way to be able to deliver your speech is truly crucial so we can be heard.

Lastly, freedom of speech will not be ridiculed by the government if we talk about how our government system is condemning us. We are here living in the same country and hoping for the best in everything, but if the way we deliver our ideas is not doing any good then the freedom of speech is no longer a freedom. The government side would totally accept our speech if it is based on something useful and there is no way to tackle it. It is not about leaving them powerless, but the power of change that we hold is stronger than we thought.

In conclusion, our voices are bigger than what we think. We could always assume that the government would not ever stop us from giving a speech as long as we voice out on something that is important to the country's well being.
