One of the most powerful online infographic tools.

Canva, just by saying that, I’m almost sure that all students or people who use online design and publishing tools will recognise it. Launched in 2013 by Australian designers, Canva is one of the most successful online tools for designing. It has achieved tons of awards as a token of how efficient it has been for a couple of years. From Canva Team itself, they said that their primary mission is to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish it anywhere. Until this day, people from 190 countries have been creating over 7 billion designs on Canva.

One of the specialties of Canva is how this application has its free account, premium account, and account for students and teachers called Canva Education. To create an account is very simple; people can go straight away and find the main page of Canva and click on the sign-up button to create a new account. Then, Canva will provide several options for the users to choose what type of ways they want to sign up, either using a Google account or Facebook. The users are all set after you finish signing up, as easy as that. The most basic template for a beginner that wants to use Canva is an infographic. The first step is to be on the home page and search for an infographic, or people can choose from the “template” tab above. Once the user has clicked on the infographic, Canva will provide them with endless choices, and they have to scroll down until they find a template that they want to work on for their work. Not to forget, Canva users can also start from a blank infographic and unleash their creativity to create one. 

Once the user has chosen their infographic template, Canva will bring you into a more detailed tool to edit the template. The options for editing are inserting elements, uploading photos, gif, or videos, inserting them, adding on text with thousands of fonts, changing the styles of the template, adding on audio, changing the background, logos, and many more. Users who use a free account will have limited access to their creativity. Some of the provided tools require them to sign up for a premium account called Canva Pro, which is a privilege for students and teachers given a Canva account from its administration. As users finish with their design, they can download it or send it to their house because Canva provides a printing service for their users’ design. To download it, users will have a few options, such as downloading it as a picture or PDF and many others. Do not worry about losing the design, as Canva will always auto-save the works! Plus, to find the design back, find the folder button on the left of the home page. 

As a Canva user myself, I have never faced any problems while using it. It is one of my favourite design tools that I have used for a few years. Canva does not limit my work only to creating infographics. They provide thousands of templates from presentations, videos for marketing, personal use, and many more. It is also very user-friendly as you can share your template with anyone, and all of us can work on the design together. It has been a fantastic experience for me while using Canva, and I hope I will always make good use of it for my education in the future.
